NEW GLAGSOW

The Riverfront Jubilee has announced the complete line up for 2019’s 24th annual festival on Aug. 2-4.

Joining the previously announced headliners, Antigonish County’s self-proclaimed “grease-coast rock n’ rollers” Andre Pettipas and the Giants and New Glasgow’s own East River Rats will kick off Friday night, home-grown pop-rock band Moon Logic, along with local indie-pop group The Collective, will start off Saturday night and Sunday will feature Halifax’s Carson Downey Band and Fredericton’s The Hypochondriacs.

  1. day tickets went on sale May 10. Early bird pricing is in effect until May 31.

As announced in late April, Kim Mitchell and Sass Jordan headline Friday night, followed by Nova Scotia’s Wintersleep and Ria Mae on Saturday, while Trooper and Big Wreck will co-headline Sunday. Early bird single day tickets for both Friday and Saturday night are $30 and $35 for Sunday. Single day ticket early bird pricing ends on May 31. VIP single day tickets, regular and VIP weekend passes are also on sale.

• Friday promises a night filled to the brim with rock n’ roll.

Andre Pettipas and the Giantswill bring you sing-along anthem songs with ear worm hooks that will reel you in and release you into a musical wave of their signature, "grease coast rock n’ roll" with a classic rock attitude combined with a 90’s rock/pop sound. Brothers, Andre and Travis Pettipas join long-time friends, Marcus Cosh and John MacDonald to complete the harmony driven quartet from Antigonish County.

• Hailing from northern Nova Scotia, New Glasgow’s East River Rats will open the festival on Aug. 1. The band’s six passionate musicians come together to create a unique high-energy blend of Celtic rock. East River Rats includes Caleb MacIvor on bass, accordion and vocals, Marree MacKenzie on the fiddle, Cole Yorke on mandolin and backing vocals, Eli Hollett on drums and backing vocals, Greg Stanley on guitar and backing vocals, Jarvis Hale on banjitar, and Brian MacKenzie on vocals, tin whistle, guitar and bodhran.

• Saturday’s wholly Nova Scotian lineup includes Moon Logic, a rock band comprised of long-time music collaborators from the Pictou County area.

Moon Logic is currently busy preparing for a follow-up studio album, and collaborating with vocalist and New Glasgow-native Robyn Alcorn to accompany their live show.

• Kicking off Saturday night, The Collective is an electrifying six-piece band from New Glasgow. Fronted by vocalists Leah Samson and Niki Campbell, the band also features guitarist Kyle Samson, bassist Michelle Tracey, drummer Jay MacLeod, and multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Brett MacDougall. They are currently making waves in the local music scene with their unique, genre-defying blend of indie-pop dance grooves that consistently leave their audiences wanting more.

• Halifax’s Carson Downey Band will give everything they have on stage and “wow” fans, not just because of the way Downey attacks his well-worn Strat, but because they temporarily become part of the Carson Downey Family: a big family, that’s full of love and passion fuelled by music and energy.

• Opening Sunday, Fredericton’s The Hypochondriacs resurrect classic country vibes with a strange and modern twist. Josh Bravener, singer and guitarist and brother Aaron on drums and vocals, along with Justine Koroscil on vocals and percussion, and seasoned bass player Jamie Guitar are The Hypochondriacs.

• The Riverfront Jubilee will offer a fresh take on the VIP experience for the 2019 festival. Changes have been made to the traditional site layout which allow for a larger VIP area. This will give VIP ticket holders additional front of stage access, a private cash bar with specialty liquor and spirit options, an exclusive food truck and snack bar, VIP-only seating, private bathrooms and separate access to The Jube Shop merchandise area. In addition, a Food Truck Village will also be a newly featured amenity for fans. Complete details will be shared in the near future.

• Once again, the CHAD Transit Safe Ride Home Program will be available for the 2019 Jubilee, made possible by CHAD Transit and the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation.
