NEW GLASGOW, N.S. –
It'll be a sad week for cows.
The Kinette Club of New Glasgow is organizing a week-long Burger Bonanza, which will take place May 19 to 25.
From every burger sold by participating local restaurants, $2 will be donated to the Kinette Club so they can continue to support the community’s greatest needs.
“Some of the organizations we support are Pictou County Fuel Fund, the (local) food banks, Autism Pictou County, Big Brothers Big Sisters, local breakfast programs, and many more,” said Megan Hartling, a member of the Kinnettes.
“We will be releasing the participating restaurants on April 19 and we have a Facebook event to keep everyone up to date. With the first year, I just want it to be successful, and I want it to grow every year.”
So far, they have seven local restaurants signed on for Burger Bonzanza.
“They’re all local,” said Hartling.
“I didn’t go after any of the chains. I wanted to keep everything local, because all money raised will stay in the community.”
If any restaurants are interested in participating or have any questions, they can contact Hartling at meghartling19@gmail or call 921-8162.
