A hand-carved wooden cross and unique hand-crafted quilt touring the Diocese of Antigonish is now in Pictou County.
The diocese commissioned the cross as part of the Year of Eucharist celebrations that began this past fall, leading to the diocesan Eucharistic Congress on June 12-14, 2020 in Membertou. The quilt was made for the 175th Anniversary of the Diocese of Antigonish this past year and features a variety of artwork - such as embroidery, beadwork, painting and photography - into squares representing each parish and mission in the diocese.
The tour began in Inverness County in December. The cross and quilt arrived at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Jan. 18 and will be in Pictou County until Feb. 21:
Jan. 18-24 - Our Lady of Lourdes, Stellarton

(Feb. 2-3 - St. Ninian Cathedral, Antigonish)
