Two adult brothers were displaced by a fire Wednesday that gutted their two-storey, wood-frame house on Summer Street in New Glasgow.
East River Road was closed for approximately one hour in both directions as fire crews required the use of fire hoses across East River Rd. Pine Street and Summer Street was also closed for over an hour.
The residents are staying with a relative for now and will meet Thursday with disaster volunteers from the Canadian Red Cross for emergency aid like purchases of clothing and food.
Neither was injured from the fire, reported around 1:30 p.m. at 750 Summer Street.
