ANDERSON MOUNTAIN, N.S.

A family of four was displaced by a fire Monday, Sept. 17 in Anderson Mountain, Pictou County.

A woman was the only person home at the time and she escaped unhurt from the fire, reported shortly after 8 a.m. at 216 Anderson Mountain Road.

The fire was mostly confined to the basement but there was smoke and water damage to parts of the bungalow.

The couple and two sons will be staying with relatives for now and have received help from Canadian Red Cross volunteers with emergency purchases like clothing and food while awaiting a damage assessment and other support through insurance.
