Pictou East MLA Tim Houston has gained another supporter in his bid for the PC leadership.

Former cabinet minister John Leefe has endorsed Houston for leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Nova Scotia.

“Nova Scotia is facing a future that is full of daunting challenges. Citizens need a government that can reimagine our struggling economy while ensuring essential support systems, a productive labour force and healthy environment form the firm foundation to make this not just possible, but entirely doable,” said Leefe. “Competent leadership that listens and responds rather than dictates and divides are essential ingredients for success. I am confident that Tim Houston is the right person with the right vision at the right time to make this reality.”

Leefe’s endorsement for Tim Houston comes a week after former finance minister Neil LeBlanc declared his support for Houston’s bid for leadership.

“Receiving John’s support, and hearing his kind words, is not only humbling, but it gives me – and our hard-working campaign team – the confidence that we’re on the right track,” said Houston.
