Country music fans and performers from across the province will gather in Truro on Saturday, Sept. 19 for the 2015 induction of three new members to the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame.

In addition to Canyon, Hal Bruce and George Longard are also being inducted.  All three are Nova Scotia born longtime performers and musicians.

Each year the hall of fame association inducts deserving Nova Scotians who have contributed to the advancement of country music as performers, musicians or industry contributors.

This year’s inductees will be honoured at a dinner and ceremony at the Best Western Glengarry in Truro.

Prior to the dinner and induction show, a number of Hall of Fame members will perform Saturday afternoon as a prelude to the evening’s events.

At the dinner and induction show, Longard who is a singer, songwriter, producer and instrumentalist will perform in a showcase of his talents.  Although Canyon has a prior commitment, he plans to make a brief appearance at the induction on his way to an engagement elsewhere in the Maritimes.  Bruce is not able to attend because of a prior commitment, but will make a brief video appearance.

The evening show will be rounded out with performances by two popular Nova Scotia performers, Ruth Manning and Matt Balsor, both from the Annapolis Valley.

Tickets for the dinner and induction ceremony are available only until Friday, September 11 from Arthur Brown at (902) 543-2050.
