High winds have knocked out power for some residents in Pictou County today, Nov. 23. A tree could be seen blown over on the property of the former Pictou Academy and at 10 a.m. more than 400 people were without power in the county.
Environment Canada issued a high wind warning for the area saying that winds were expected to gust up to 100 km/hr. It predicted that winds will begin to diminish by noon.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
