PICTOU, N.S. — The water is back on Water Street.
Since early in the morning on Dec. 12 some businesses and homes in Pictou were getting nothing from the taps this morning.
“We’re been going across the street getting buckets of water,” said one employee at Ahead of Hair at the Water and Coleraine St, not far from where crews were working to fix the problem.
According to the town of Pictou chief engineer Kyle Slaunwhite there was a break in the underground pipe just in front of the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on Coleraine St.
Slaunwhite told The News that Coleraine St. will remain closed until work crews can fill the hole in the road. Fortunately, though, the broken pipe was fixed at around 1:15 p.m. and the runner is running again.
