The interim injunction entitled to Northern Pulp from the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia will be made permanent.

Northern Pulp first sought the injunction in Dec. 2018 in order to prevent the further interference of its survey operations by local fishermen.

Seven fishermen were mentioned by name in an affidavit sworn in on Dec. 3, 2018 for their role in blocking a survey boat retained by Northern Pulp and tasked with surveying the ocean floor for the outfall site of the company’s controversial effluent pipeline.

According to a release from the Northumberland Fishermen, the seven named defendants have agreed to the issuance of the permanent injunction.
