NEW GLASGOW – Sometimes when you run an outdoor concert, Mother Nature throws a curve ball, says Michelle MacLean, chair of this year’s New Glasgow Riverfront Jubilee.
Such was the case with the rain that had an effect on attendance at this year’s event. But despite the weather, MacLean says she’s hearing great reviews from people who attended the three-day musical showcase.
“People were really happy with the artists,” she said.
On Friday night, Jimmy Rankin was on stage and was a hit with the crowd while on Saturday night, it was Reeny Smith who was the crowd favourite.
“People who haven’t seen her before were blown away,” she said.
Sunday night, she heard rave reviews for Reuben and the Dark that was followed up with a strong performance by July Talk.
“They were so amazing. I’m pretty sure that it’s safe to say they gained quite a few new fans.”
For her personally, July Talk was a highlight of the event.
