The sale of D.R. Hayman Insurance, which has provided both personal and business insurance in the Pictou County area for more than 50 years, was effective Dec. 31.
In a release, Archway said the two companies have worked co-operatively in their respective market areas for more than a decade. Their management and brokers share a common philosophy of the advantages to working with an insurance broker.
“At Hayman, our brokers spend time to discuss our clients’ insurance needs and recommend the appropriate insurance solution by matching them with the insurance company that best meets those requirements,” said D.R. Hayman president Boyd Greene. “Putting our customer first is at the heart of our business and we’ve found a great partner in Archway who shares this value.”
The acquisition of Hayman brings the total number of Archway locations to 21 – covering mainland Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. It also expands Archway’s physical presence into a new area of Nova Scotia.
“Pictou County is a vibrant area of our province and we’re very excited to be able to have a convenient location to serve both existing and new clients in this region,” said Archway Insurance President Gina McFetridge.
All existing employees will be retained, and Archway also has plans to increase sales and marketing efforts in Pictou County. Greene has agreed to remain through the transition period to provide continuity for clients and staff.
Archway Insurance is an Atlantic-owned, independent insurance brokerage, headquartered in Amherst. In 2013, Archway Insurance received CAFE’s National Family Enterprise of the Year Achievement Award.
