NEW GLASGOW, N.S. –
Dave Webber wants his Jeep full of Christmas cheer – in this case, toys for local kids.
A member of the North Nova chapter of the Nova Scotia Jeep Club, Webber and about 13 other club members spent the morning and afternoon of Nov. 23 at the Wal-Mart parking lot in New Glasgow, as shoppers helped fill Webber’s four-door Jeep Rubicon.
They will also be at the Canadian Tire outlet in the Highland Square Mall on Nov. 30.
“Our goal is to fill two Jeeps,” said Webber.
“Currently, we have one of the Jeeps 80 per cent full, next week we hope to fill another Jeep, to match last year’s total. We also accept cash donations, and the cash will go to gift cards, that way they can use it to buy things they may need for their families.”
This is the second year the North Nova chapter has conducted a toy drive. All the toys are given to The United Way of Pictou County, who will then distribute the toys to local families.
