The New Glasgow franchise location is up against others in the country to see who can sell the most of a recently introduced product – Royal Swedish Snowballs.

Based on a ratio of snowballs sales to store stales, New Glasgow is currently ranked fourth in Atlantic Canada and seventh throughout all of Canada.

The snowballs, which are advertised as a whole food, low-calorie, gluten and nut free, snack featuring vanilla, cocoa and coconut, contest is running until the end of May. They’re also introducing a cookie crumb coated snowball in the beginning of May, the sales of which would also go towards their ranking in the contest.

Franchise owner Elaine Howell says it could be exciting for New Glasgow to have Hendrik Zetterberg here, and is pleased to see they’re holding up against big cities.

“It’s encouraging we could compete at that level. We have a good shot at winning.”
