NEW GLASGOW – Police located a missing man on Saturday night in Salt Springs, just off Highway 4.
Police first announced Ahmed Mohamed, 19, was missing Saturday evening. At that time police said he had been last seen at Glasgow Pub, Stewart Street, New Glasgow, around 2 a.m. Saturday.
The New Glasgow Regional Police, Pictou County District RCMP and RCMP K-9 turned their focus to the Salt Springs area around 11 p.m. Saturday after a concerned resident of Salt Springs discovered an unoccupied vehicle over an embankment near the highway.
Mohamed was located shortly after near the scene by the police dog and was subsequently transported to the Aberdeen Hospital with serious injuries.
The Pictou County District RCMP and New Glasgow Regional Police continue to investigate the matter.
Police extended their gratitude to the public for their assistance, and for sharing information on the matter that lead to Mohamed being found through social media.
