NEW GLASGOW, N.S.
The New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit has arrested and charged a 23-year-old man with aggravated assault in relation to an incident early on Jan. 1.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. on the first day of the New Year, the New Glasgow Regional Police were called to a disturbance on Stewart Street, New Glasgow. Upon arrival, officers found a 20-year-old man who had sustained serious injury.
The arrest came as a result of their investigation. The accused has been released from custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
The victim remains in hospital with serious injuries.
New Glasgow Regional Police continue to investigate.
