TRENTON, N.S.
A Stellarton man has been arrested and charged with 21 counts of fraud.
The 31-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 11:50 a.m.
These charges are in relation to fraudulent transactions at Casey Concrete in Trenton between Dec. 7, 2018 and Jan. 1, 2019.
The 31-year old was released on conditions and will appear in Provincial Court in Pictou on April 8.
New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit continue to investigate.
Bruce Casey, who owns Casey Concrete, said the man who was charged was an employee of the company. The accused no longer works for Casey Concrete. Casey said they had notified police around Jan. 2 after they discovered what they believed to be incidences of fraud had taken place. He said they’ve been cooperating with police during the investigation. He indicated that the amount of alleged fraud was significant.
