The Riverfront Jubilee is bringing back Jube in January, a local music event, on Jan. 25, 2020 at Glasgow Square Theatre.

This year will be the 25th anniversary of the Riverfront Jubilee and in celebration there will be events throughout the year leading up to the August long weekend, beginning with Jube in January.

“Jube in January is an event that has been on hiatus the past few years,” said chairperson Janine Linthorne. “We thought this was the perfect year to bring it back, while celebrating 25 years of the Riverfront Jubilee.”

The Riverfront Jubilee began as a small local music festival and over the past 25 years has morphed into an East Coast Music Award nominee, Tourism Nova Scotia Signature Event, Nova Scotia Music Award winning three-day music festival.

Neon Soul Machine (NSM) is a 10-piece party band, based in New Glasgow, with a setlist inspired by everything soulful and groovy, from Motown hits of decades past to funk-inspired renditions of modern-day bangers. NSM have only been rocking out together since 2018, but this band features some of the most in-demand performers in the Pictou County area. With members having performed as freelancers in countless musical genres, and others with noted local groups such as Pictou County Pop Classics, Momentary Lapse: A Pink Floyd Show, Hot Mess, Grooveback, and The Collective (to name a few).

The Collective is an six-piece band from New Glasgow, who are currently making waves in the local music scene with their unique, genre-defying blend of indie-pop dance grooves that consistently leave their audiences wanting more. Having just released their debut single, Beast, to an overwhelmingly positive response The Collective is poised to launch into what is certain to be a bright trajectory in the music industry.

Trilogy consists of three Pictou County musicians that have combined their unique styles into one harmonious sound. Whether you're a country fan, a pop lover or anything in between - they've got you covered. Not only can Trilogy change it up by genre, but each member can carry a tune on multiple instruments.

Musician, Randy Swallow, returned from British Columbia and rejoined Dave MacDonald and James Swallow to form the Randy Swallow band.

Doors for Jube in January will open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be $25 in advance or two for $40. Tickets will be $30 at the door.

Tickets can be purchased online at ticketpro.ca, via phone at 1-888-311-9090, in person at any TicketPro Atlantic Outlet or at the Glasgow Square Theatre Box Office.
