STELLARTON, N.S. — STELLARTON, N.S. —

Stellarton Fire department responded to a structure fire at 87 and 89 Acadia Ave at 1:00 a.m on Feb. 9.

Four adults escaped unharmed but lost belongings and the duplex was extensively damaged, including most of the roof collapsing.

Diasster volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross arranged emergency lodging through the weekend plus food, winter clothing purchases and other basics for a woman and man from one unit, and clothing and food for a couple from the other unit, who are staying with friends.

Members of the Stellarton fire Department brought the blaze under control by 6:00, but were called the scene again hours later to deal with flare ups.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
