Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library supports NS Walk Day

The Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library is encouraging Pictou County residents to lace up and take part in NS Walk Day on Wednesday, May 9. Healthy snacks will be provided by the Pictou West, and Pictou Central and East Community Health Boards.

Nova Scotia Walk Day uses the success of Walkabout to bring together communities and individuals from across the province to participate in a walk and celebrate the joyful side of walking.

Local library events that day are as follows:

• 9 a.m. – Westville Library, for a family-friendly stroll to Acadia Park with Clare Steele (Westville Recreation), and library staff.

• 11:30 a.m. – Pictou Library, for a family-friendly stroll along the waterfront with Michelle Young (Pictou Recreation & Parks), and library staff.

• 1:30 p.m. – Trenton Library, for a family-friendly stroll to the downtown park with the Trenton Library Book Club, and library staff.

• 1:30 p.m. – New Glasgow Library, for a Storywalk adventure around the library for the young & young-at-heart, with library staff!

• 3 p.m. – Stellarton Library, for a family-friendly stroll to the NS Museum of Industry, with Paul Corbin (Stellarton Recreation), the Afterschool@Library kids, and library staff.

• 6:30 p.m. – River John Library, for a family-friendly sunset stroll along the beautiful Sunrise Trail with local authors, Linda Little and Monica Graham, and library staff.
