A man charged with aggravated assault in connection with an altercation at the Whitetail pub in Westville, Pictou County, has had his plea hearing moved ahead to Feb. 19.

Timothy Martin, 43 of Westville was arrested after police were called to the Westville pub at approximately 9:30 on Jan. 15. The victim, a 60-year-old man, was transported to the Aberdeen Hospital with serious injuries. From there he was then airlifted to Halifax.

Martin was charged in Pictou Provincial Court on Jan. 17 and released on remand.

He was expected to enter a plea on Feb. 4, but one of the lawyers connected with the case could not be in court. Martin will next appear in Pictou Provincial Court on Feb. 19.
