A plea hearing has been re-scheduled for May 28 for a New Glasgow man facing charges of transmitting and possession of child pornography as well as firearms related charges.
Nicholas Linthorne, 20 was arrested on Jan. 10 following a house search by members from the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, the New Glasgow Police and the RCMP Technological Crime Unit.
During the search, Linthorne allegedly pulled a replica firearm on the officers.
“One police officer and the suspect sustained minor injuries, that did not require medical attention,” RCMP said in a Jan. 11 news release.
On Feb. 5, Linthorne was released on recognizance. The conditions for his release are that he have no contact, either directly or indirectly, or be alone with any child under the age of 18. He is also barred from possession of any electronic devices capable of accessing the internet.
Linthorne appeared briefly in Pictou Provincial court on March 11.
