A spokesperson for the national chain said the store was open for business at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, and will be open for business as usual as repairs are underway.
On Monday, a Chevy Silverado smashed into the panes of glass to the left of the front entrance, hitting the wall in the vestibule area. Tammy Smitham said magazines displayed on the other side of the wall had to be removed, but no structural damage occurred.
Smitham isn’t sure when repairs will be complete, as the pieces of glass have to be ordered. She also didn’t know the estimated cost of the damage.
No one was injured in the incident, but a 47-year-old man was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a vehicle and driving while prohibited. He will appear in provincial court in Pictou at a later date.
