People were lined up at the Subway across from the Subway and surrounding streets to get a picture of the large bull moose.
“I’m not crazy!” Kevin Johnson proudly said as he walked up to a group taking pictures.
Johnson had been driving by Sharon St. John Church around 6:10 a.m. when he saw a moose right in the middle of the road.
“It totally shocked me,” he said. “I was expecting to some people in trouble trying to flag me down because I just saw shadows on the road.”
Instead it was the bull moose which he estimates was about 8 feet tall.
It crossed down Stellar Street and continued on.
He had snapped a few pictures with his phone, but when he got home to look at them there were none that turned out clear.
He drove his brother in law to work at Michelin. All the way he cracked moose jokes. Everyone he told laughed and doubted.
Later though, Johnson was in at Proudfoots and someone was showing pictures of the moose they had seen up behind the Subway near the Wellness Centre. He quickly went over to get more pics to prove he hadn’t been seeing anything.
“I haven’t seen a moose in probably 10 years.”
Aaron MacKay thought he was coming up to an accident scene when he saw dozens of cars stopped on the side of the road.
When he stopped, he was amazed to see it was a bull moose and quickly pulled out his own camera.
He said it was his first chance to see a moose in the while. He had gone on a trip through the Cabot Trail before, but never saw one moose.
It might have made him a few minutes late for work, but he took the time to do an impromptu photo shoot.
