Stellarton Police Services are asking for the public’s help as they investigate an alleged sexual assault that took place in the early morning hours of Feb. 6.

Stellarton police were dispatched to the area of Foster Avenue in regard to a disturbance.

Police believe the suspect fled Foster Avenue in the direction Bridge Avenue and Allan Avenue. The accused, 24 year old Gordon Michael Prosper from Stellarton was arrested a short time later in Stellarton. He was scheduled to appear in Provincial Court Wednesday on charges of Break & Enter, Sexual Assault and possession of weapon, The accused was known to the victim.

Police canvassed the community in hopes of locating people who may have seen a suspicious male in this area between the hours of 5 and 6 a.m. Anyone who has any information can contact the Stellarton Police Service at 902-752-6160 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
