Two names have come forth for the vacant Town council seat in Westville.
Former Pictou East MLA Clarrie MacKinnon and Betty Jean Sutherland both filed their nomination papers by the Nov. 19 deadline.
The seat became available when seven-year councillor Lennie White vacated it to run for mayor. No one opposed White, who will be sworn in later this month.
The byelection will take place on Dec. 14.
