Man charged in New Glasgow stabbings remains in custody

A Pictou County man charged with stabbing two people outside a bar in New Glasgow appeared in Pictou Provincial Court on Oct. 2.

Jordan McIntyre, 21 was arrested and charged on the morning of Sept. 27 with two counts each of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon, and for possession of a weapon. 

The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Sept. 27 outside of Shenanigans Pub in New Glasgow. 

The victims, both men and aged 42 and 24 years-old were taken to the Aberdeen Hospital with serious injuries. Both men are from Pictou County.

"The suspect and the victims were known to each other and this is not considered a random act," said New Glasgow Regional Police Cst. Ken MacDonald in a news release.

McIntyre first appeared in Pictou Provincial Court on Sept. 30 and was scheduled for a bail-hearing on Oct. 2. 

No bail was posted however, and he has been remanded into custody.

His next court appearance will be on Oct. 15
