PICTOU – A new flagpole will be going up in front of the Municipality of Pictou County administration building.
Council agreed to adopt a new flag policy that would see the current flagpole in front of the building hoist the national flag while a new second pole will be put up to hoist community initiative flags.
Requests from community groups wanting their flag flown at the administrative office can be made with staff and all requests must be in line with the federal government’s Canadian Heritage policies. The amount of time a flag can be flown will depend on the amount of requests the council receives.
