PICTOU – Councillors will be shelling out their own funds to pay for new clothing that will include the logo of the Municipality of Pictou County.
Warden Robert Parker told councillors Tuesday during a finance committee meeting that he believes councillors should be wearing something that states which municipal unit they represent when the attend functions. He said he has seen reps from other municipal units don their logo shirts and jackets and believes it instils a sense of pride in the councillor.
Councillors liked the idea and agreed that the purchase of any clothing with the county logo would come out of their own wallets.
