ANTIGONISH, N.S. — The first day of summer seems like the perfect time for a Nova Scotia Summer Fest kick-off event and that is exactly what is happening.

Hosted by CTV personality Ana Almeida and Summer Fest founder Ray Mattie, the event will take place this Friday, June 21, at the Antigonish Education Centre (AEC) on Appleseed Drive in Antigonish.

The AEC, with a large space just to the left as you come in the main doors of the building, will offer a lot more room and parking than where previous Summer Fest announcements have taken place (the People’s Place Library’s community room), Mattie said.

“It’s open to the public … we’re expecting a lot of people,” he said, adding, “it is a well-lit, nice space.”

Doors open at 7 p.m. with the event starting at 7:30.
