Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by vehicle in Halifax

A pedestrian was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a driver of a motor vehicle in Halifax Friday night. 

At 8:18 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a pedestrian hit by a driver of a motor vehicle in the 6700 block of Quinpool Road, police said in a news release. The driver was heading westbound on Quinpool Road when the pedestrian was struck. 

The victim was taken to hospital by EHS with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle didn't report any injuries.

Police closed Quinpool Road, between Connaught Avenue and Woodlawn Terrace, for several hours to investigate the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
