Pictou County District RCMP arrested three men for impaired driving within a 12-hour period on May 28.
At approximately 12:50 a.m., Pictou District RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 106 near Granton. The 26-year-old male driver from Colchester County was transported to hospital for injuries sustained in the collision. The investigation revealed that he was impaired at the time of the collision. This investigation continues and charges of failing the breathalyzer and Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle are expected.
While at the scene of this collision, RCMP stopped a second vehicle driving past the collision scene. A 25-year-old male driver from Thorburn exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested for impaired driving. He also faces charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and failing the breathalyzer and will appear in Pictou Provincial Court on August 26.
At approximately 12:08 p.m. on the same day, RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Little Harbour Road. Investigation at the scene resulted in the 42-year-old male driver from Alberta being arrested for impaired driving. He faces charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and failing the breathalyzer and will appear in Pictou Provincial Court on July 29.
