PICTOU, N.S.

Trial dates have been set for a man accused of assaulting a peace officer.

James Bernard Melvin, 36, is charged with assaulting a peace officer while in the execution of his duties to cause bodily harm and to provoke fear in a justice system participant into order to impede him in the performance of his duties.

The alleged incidents occurred on March 24 at the North East Nova Scotia Correctional Facility. The trial will take place March 7, 2019.
