PICTOU – Some major capital projects are either just getting started or wrapping up in the county over the next few months.

County staff reported that work is continuing on its three major water and sewer projects that include McLellans Brook Road water line, Spring Estates water and wastewater extension and Abercrombie wastewater extension.

Staff said designs for the McLellans Brook water line are currently in the finishing stages and should be ready for tender in the near future.

Pipe is going into the ground at the subdivision for the Springfield Estates and attention will soon turn to an on-site booster station. It is estimated this project will be complete in about eight weeks.

The Abercrombie wastewater extension project has moved to Granton and Abercrombie Road with most of the pipe work complete. Crews will have to return to the project to install a pumping station but it is estimated the project will be completed in about 10 weeks.
