Allan "Al" Walker

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 6, 2019 at the age of 75. Al was born in New Glasgow and went to school in Pictou and Stellarton before joining the Canadian Air Force in 1962. Beloved husband of Donna (nee Watling) for 48 years. Devoted father of Mark (Lucy) Walker and Melanie (Scott) Donnelly. Adored “Grampie” of Maia, Ava and Bianca. Dear brother of Joe (Roz) of Ottawa and Vaughn (Marie) of New Glasgow. Al is pre-deceased by his parents, Joseph and Rita Walker. Al proudly served 32 years in the Air Force in various locations throughout Canada and the United States before retiring and settling in Niagara Falls, Ontario. He loved hockey and auto racing and could often be found at an arena or local speedway. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughters…they were the light of his life. He will be dearly missed but always in our hearts. The funeral will be held in Niagara Falls on Friday, January 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the IWK Halifax Children’s Hospital.
