May 2, 1949 – November 18, 2018 It is with heavy hearts that we said goodbye to our Husband, Brother, Dad, Uncle, Grandpa and Friend on November 18, 2018. Born in New Glasgow, NS, on May 2, 1949, he was the son of the late Laird and Jean MacKenzie of Thorburn, NS. He leaves behind the love of his life and best friend of 48 years; Judy (née Wilsack), his sister Margie Cameron (Doug) of Thorburn, NS, his brother Ken Mackenzie (Anne), his Mother in law; Miriam Wilsack, his brothers in law Wayne Wilsack (Lise) and Scott Wilsack (Stephanie) his children; Shayne MacKenzie (Joy Prosser), Krista Gunther (Dave) and Dale Mackenzie (Sue), his beloved grandchildren; MacKenzie, Kassandra, Rosie, Kyle, Catriona and Alexander along with his nieces and nephews; Jeanne and Bob Cameron and Jacob and Erika Wilsack. His great nieces Cassidy and Bella. Bruce would not want us to be sad during this time. He would want us to remember and cherish the good times, to hold our loved ones tight and to celebrate the moments we have with each of them. In honoring Bruce’s wishes, we invite friends, family, and co-workers past and present to celebrate Bruce’s life at NeXT Event Centre at 6400 Hazeldean Road, Stittsville on Thursday November 22 from 6:30-8:30 pm where we will have the opportunity to share stories and reflect on our time with Bruce. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Hospice Care Ottawa, Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice at hospicecareottawa.ca
