Daniel Durling

Daniel Winston Durling, 80, of Westville, passed away on Tuesday, April 16th, 2019, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Middleton on May 12th, 1938, he was a son of the late Jack and Doris (Lewis) Durling. A stone mason, Dan worked on many homes throughout Pictou County and had been a member of the Bricklayers Union. He was also a carpenter and was quite proud of building his own homes. Dan enjoyed being a volunteer with the Salvation Army where he was a Boy Scout leader. He also enjoyed cooking, hunting and fishing; especially at LORDA where he had built their brick fireplace. Dan will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Dianne (Moulton) and son, Tony (Melanie), Halifax; granddaughter Brittany and grandson Dylan. He is also survived by sisters, Betty Hannam and Paulette Buchanan; brothers, John (Kay) and Gary (Jenny); sister-in-law Mary Durling and brother-in-law Gary Moulton. Besides his parents, Dan was predeceased by brothers, Max and Tony; sister-in-law, Lillian Crosby and brother-in-law, Ralph Moulton. There will be no visitation or funeral service by request.
