Dorothy Lillian MacNutt, 93, Cowan Street, Westville passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in South Hampton, England, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mae (Drew) Unwin Coming to Canada as a “war bride”, she was a member of the War Brides Club. Before moving to Canada, she worked as a nurse. A volunteer with the Red Cross and a member of the Westville Heritage Group, she also was an adherent of St. Paul United Church. A home maker, she enjoyed baking, sewing and especially gardening. Dorothy resided in Glen Haven Manor for th past two years. She is survived by daughters Pat Thomas (Len), Lyons Brook; Marie Reid (Dan MacDonald), Truro; a son John (Allison Brown), Moncton; grand children Lee Ann Spears, Wendy Lloyd, Nicholas Reid and Matthew Reid; great grand children, Joanne, Jarrett, Miranda, and Jamie ; great great grand children Zander and Mia and a brother Ted in England. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent and brother Sandy. Dorothy is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting from 1:00 to 1:45 pm Saturday prior to her funeral. Her funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Saturday from Eagles Funeral Chapel Westville with Rev. Dr. Mary Taylor. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations in her memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or the I.W. K Grace Hospital. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
