Gloria Mabel Munro
MUNRO, Gloria Mabel On November 2, 2019, Gloria, 88, passed away peacefully at the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born and raised on the family farm in Merigomish, she was a daughter of the late John and Greta Cameron. She moved to New Glasgow where she met and married her husband of 48 years, Don Munro, and raised their three children. She loved her family and enjoyed being involved as a Cub leader with Donnie and Paul and a CGIT leader with Judy. Gloria loved to socialize and was known for her sense of humor. She could be found sitting at the piano for hours during a family gathering leading the singsong. She enjoyed her weekly bridge games with her friends, playing into her eighties. She loved spending her summers with family and friends at the family cottage at Chance Harbour. Mom was very artistic, creating beautiful artwork and pottery pieces that will be cherished for many years. She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, St. Andrews Ladies Aid Society and volunteered for many years with the Aberdeen Hospital Auxiliary. Recently, she proudly received her 65 year jewel from Eastern Star. Gloria is survived by her children: Donnie (Susan), Judy Murdock (Zeph), Paul (Joanne); sister, Doris MacKenzie (Robert); 8 grandchildren: Sandi (Glen), Kimberly (Dave), Corey (Carlee), Nick (Alyssa), Mallory (Corey), Trevor, Sean (Meg) and Julianne.
