Gregory Paul Babin

Gregory Paul Babin
New Glasgow - Gregory Paul Babin. Greg passed away peacefully at home on May 31, 2019 after a short battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on December 5, 1952, he was the son of the late Albert Babin and Anna (d’Entremont) Babin. He attended St. Mary’s University and then worked for 35 years at Scotiabank throughout HRM and Pictou County, where he was respected and loved by staff and employees. He retired in 2016 to spend time with family, cruising in his beloved convertible, and stayed involved in the Pictou community as a member on the Board of the Ship Hector. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sandra (Dulong) Babin; his little girl, daughter, Holly Babin; his son, Chad Babin with wife Kate Spurr, and beloved grandchildren, Claire, Thomas and a soon-to-be-born grandson. Greg was a car-lover, and an avid curler, curling for years at the Westville Curling Club. He was a family man through and through who loved spending time with his grandchildren and was always a helping hand for those he met throughout his life. A celebration of Greg’s life will be announced at a later date. The family wants to extend immense gratitude to the staff of the Aberdeen Palliative Care Unit. Donations can be made in Greg Babin’s name to the Ship Hector Society and/or the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Condolences may be sent by visiting: www.rhporter.ca
