Jessie Christine Ehrenfeld

Central West River: Ehrenfeld, Jessie Christine age 93 of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow formerly of Central West River passed away in her sleep on Sunday November 25, 2018 in the manor. Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late Chester and Catherine MacLeod (Park) Beaton. Christine was a resident of the Glen Haven Manor for the past year having previously been a resident of Central West River since 1982, and Montreal where she lived for 30 years prior to living in Central West River. She was a retired school teacher having taught for 35 years in Montreal and Stellarton. She was a member of St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church and Union Presbyterian Church. Christine was treasurer for the West River Fire Dept for 10 years. She enjoyed bowling with the women’s seniors league and crossword puzzles. Christine was a member of the Westville Heritage Group, Golden Link Rebekah Lodge and was a former volunteer at Tearman House. Surviving are her son Harold (Geraldine) Fraser, Thorburn; grandchildren Annette, Tara, Christopher, Angelique and James, a number of great grandchildren, son-in-law Robert MacGillivray. She was predeceased by her first husband Robert Fraser, her second husband Siegfried Ehrenfeld, daughter Evelyn “Lynn” MacGillivray, grandson Troy Fraser, great grandson Drew Willard, brother Malcolm (Buddy) Beaton and sister Isabel Jackson. The family will receive visitors from 6-9pm Wednesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where a memorial service will be held 11am Thursday with Karen MacKay presiding. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Thorburn Cemetery. Family flowers only.
