John Joseph Duggan

Duggan, John Joseph - 88 of River John, passed away March 5, 2018 in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in Malagash, he was the son of the late Joseph and Greta (Purdy) Duggan. John worked for Warren Maritimes Ltd. for more than thirty years. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and was known for spending many hours tending his gardens. Surviving are, his sons, David (Cathy), Durham; Donald, River John; daughter, Sheila Duggan (Gilles Rodrigues), Quebec; grandchildren, Joey, Katie and Laura; brothers, Charlie (Jean), Tatamagouche; Peter, Malagash; Jack (Claudette), Ontario; Clarence (Helen), Malagash; sisters, Cecilia Green and Betty Allen, both of Amherst; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, the former Carrie S. Heighton; two daughters in infancy; sister, Edna Anderson and her husband Vaughn; brother, Ernest; sister-in-law, Linda Cameron (Peter's wife); step-daughter, Margaret. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Today (Thursday, March 8, 2018) in Coulter's Funeral Home (902-657-3288) 48 Riverside Dr., Tatamagouche. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 9 in the funeral home, Rev. Douglas Pilsworth officiating. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
