Kevin William Gerrior

Kevin William Gerrior
Kevin William Gerrior, resident of Xenia, Ohio, formerly of Stellarton, passed away suddenly on September 18, 2018 in Xenia at the age of 50. Born July 17, 1968 he was the son of Virginia Gerrior and the late Donald Gerrior of Stellarton. He leaves behind his wife Patty in Ohio, step-sons Eric Keck in Ohio and Emmett (Morgan) Keck and grandchildren Lincoln, Ezekiel and Maddy, all of West Virginia and sister Karen Gerrior (Kawal Deogun) of Ottawa. He will be greatly missed by his dear friend and business partner John Guthro of New Glasgow, who shared Kevin’s passion for technology and remained like a brother to him across the miles. Kevin was raised in Stellarton where his outgoing personality and joyful spirit made him many friends. After graduating from Stellarton High School he attended Nova Scotia Teachers College in Truro and obtained a B. Ed from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. He followed his dream of teaching to California, and he continued his education by obtaining a Master’s Of Special Education from the University of Southern California and a Masters in Educational Administration from St. F.X. in Antigonish. With the onset of the Internet, Kevin left teaching to pursue a career in Technology working for several national tech firms (Apple, Dell) as a sales consultant. His work took him all across the United States and eventually he settled down in Ohio with the love of his life, Patty, for the last 17 years. He especially enjoyed hockey and carried his passion for hockey throughout his entire life, becoming a linesman in the West Coast Hockey League while living in California and recently playing for the Huff N Puff Hockey League with his buddies in Ohio. Kevin also loved organizing and participating in charity runs, weekly Bible studies in his home and hiking in several of America’s national parks with his wife Patty. Kevin loved to meet people and learn their stories and then share their stories with others. He never met a stranger, everyone was simply a friend he hadn't met yet. A Celebration of Life was held in Xenia, Ohio on September 22, 2018. A Memorial for Kevin will be held on Saturday, October 6 at 11 a.m. at First United Baptist Church, 896 East River Road, New Glasgow. Donations in memory of Kevin can be made to the Pictou County Food Bank.
