The family of Jeanetta “Mercedes” O'Reilly (Druhan) of Halifax, formally of Hopewell and Westville, are sad to share news of her passing on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the QEII Health Sciences Center in Halifax at the age of 93. Born in Westville, N.S., she was the daughter of Patrick Druhan and Catherine (Chisholm) Druhan. Mercedes was raised and attended school in Westville, NS. She continued her studies and graduated as a nurse from Saint Martha’s Hospital in Antigonish, after which she enjoyed an extensive nursing career with the Nova Scotia Department of Health. Mercedes was predeceased by her loving husband, Ed O’Reilly with whom she resided in Hopewell, NS until his death. After Ed's death, Mercedes moved to Halifax where she resided in Parkland Clayton Park. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been predeceased by her parents, her brothers James (Pat), John ("Vange"), Lawrence and Jerry ("Winna" and Inge) Druhan and two in infancy, as well as her sisters Mary ("May") Shepard, Isabel (Bill) Ingarfield, Kay Herzog and one in infancy. “Aunt Mercedes “ will be remembered with much love and respect by her many nieces and nephews as well as her many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Funeral Arrangements are under the care of Eagles Funeral Home in Westville. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Westville, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating at 11:00 am. on Monday, June 24th. Burial to follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Westville. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
