WESTVILLE Fraser Gleason “Mike” MacEwan, Millbrook formerly of Westville passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Aberdeen Hospital. He was the son of the late Thomas and Gertrude (Joudrey) MacEwan. Mike married Judy and they lived happily for over 65 years, first in Westville then moving to the beautiful home they built and loved for the last 26 years in Millbrook. He worked at Zellers in his younger years and will be especially remembered for his beautiful window displays. Mike later moved on to Scott Paper as a sign Painter where he remained until his retirement. Mike was very involved in the community and was one of the founders of the Westville Rink Project. He was a Scout Master and played and coached hockey and baseball and sang in the Barber Shop Quartet. He will be loving remembered for his artistic skills and his talented carpentry work building beautiful pieces of furniture for family, especially the cradles he built for his grandchildren and later great-grandchildren. Mike will be dearly missed by his wife Judy MacEwan (Phinney); his daughters, Joanne Sim (Hugh), New Glasgow; Michele Parsonage (Frank), Lovat; Lisa Cullen (Brian), Kelowna, BC ; son Stephen, Edmonton; daughter-in-law Beth MacEwan, Bowmanville, Ont.; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; a brother Elwood, Ontario and sister Trixie, Westville. He now joins his son Bobby; sisters Jean, Muriel, Brownie and June and brothers Thomas, Alister, Dig, Bobby, Harry, Chester, Percy and Nelson (who passed away 18 hours earlier). There will be no visitations. His memorial service will be held on Sunday, Jan 27th , at 2 p.m. from Eagles Funeral Home Chapel, Westville, with Rev. Jim Webber- Cook officiating.
