Phyllis Yorke

Phyllis Yorke
Phyllis Mary Yorke, 80 of Truro formerly of Westville, slipped into the arms of God on Wednesday May 9th,2018 at her residence that she shared with her son Robert Yorke and his partner Shauna. For the past 4 1/2 years she lived in Truro with them enjoying a happy and busy life. Born in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Violet (Delaney) Power. She went on many road trips to places she has never seen. Every morning she had to have her Tim Hortons tea before she spoke to anyone. As we discussed her life one of her sayings was “do not cry when I have passed cry for me now while I am still here”. She has left a hole in our lives now that she is gone. Phyllis is survived by her sons Robert (Shauna), Charles (Indira) and John; daughters Helen Cornett(Mark) and Susan Yorke; her sister, Ann Marshall; she was a grandmother to 5 Grandchildren and 1 great grandson; was also Nene to Abby, William, Alexis, Hannah, Rylee and Mr. James. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon Yorke; son Joseph “Joey”; brothers, Josie, Robbie and William; and sister Lillian Walker-Acker. Thanks to VON and their workers for making it possible for Phyllis to stay at home. Her favorite workers were Lacey Elliot, Laura Chisolm-McKinnon, Cathy Cameron, Michelle MacCallum and Shelley Doucette. We would also like to thank Jamie George, Amanda McKinley and Jody Burton for their support also through this journey with Phyllis before and after her life. Her family will receive visitors on Saturday, May 19 from 2-4 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville followed by a grave side service at the Auburn Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. with Fred Jeffery officiating. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
