Russell Vernon "Duke" Murchison

Russell Vernon “Duke” Murchison, 42 of Westville passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Elva (Murphy)Murchison, of Westville and the late Gordon Murchison. Duke enjoyed animals, especially dogs, and also watching “The Big Bang Theory”. He was employed and enjoyed working at Final Touch Party Rentals. He will be dearly missed by his mother Elva; sister, Mary Murchison (Randy Dooley), Westville; brother, Stan Murchison (Dora), Priestville; nephews, Jamie, Eldridge, and Stan Jr.; nieces, Amanda and Haley; chosen brothers, Shawn Ryan, and Jason Johnson; and close friends, Randy Matheson and Daniel Mitchell. He was predeceased by his father, Gordon and grandparents, Russell and Jane Murphy and Gordon and Mary Murchison. Special thanks to the V.O.N. especially Kaitlyn Kenny and the Palliative Care team, especially nurse, Rachel MacDonald. Duke is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 1 o’clock Tuesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
