Todd Richard Houston

Todd Richard Houston
Todd Richard Houston, age 44, passed away June 25 at Dartmouth General surrounded by the love and admiration of his family. Diagnosed just two weeks ago, Todd didn’t lose many fights in his life but cancer took him hard and fast before he had the chance to launch one of his famous counter combinations. His children, Fynn, Kane and Bree, were the true loves of his life and his affection and devotion for them defined the real meaning of “father”. He loved his position and family at the Canadian Border Services Agency where he spent the last eight years as a “Bouncer for Canada” after having spent almost two decades working the doors at some of Halifax’s favourite night spots. Todd was ferociously loyal to his friends and family. A true brother to all and desperately proud of his Fairview roots. His legacy lives on in his hopes and dreams for his children. He will be sadly missed by his parents, Lloyd and Sharon Houston (Timberlea), sister Leanne (Timberlea), brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Carol (Little Harbour), niece Paget and nephew, Zachary. He is also survived by his former partner, Fynn, Kane and Bree’s mother, Krista Murray. He will live on forever through his famous stories, ingenious advice and thoughtful insight. Special brothers Danny, Rodney, John Michael, Peter and Marc spent most of their adult lives, including his final days, by his side. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Richard and Doris Houston (Dresden, Ontario), maternal grandparents, Jerome and Dorothy Burke (Halifax) and a special aunt, Jane Condon (Halifax). Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive on Thursday, June 28 from 6-9pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, June 29 at 11:00am from J.A. Snow Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice. To send online condolences, please visit www.jasnowfuneralhome.com
