Peter MacKay and his quest for the limelight to me shows a major character flaw. The only thing I can come up with is he feels he lives in his father's shadow, or out and out narcissism.
He had the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada and to me he sold them out. Stephen Harper was what I describe as a Canadian disaster and Peter was right there with him serving in different ministries.
I remember the name David Orchard, who he said he would back in his run against Stephen Harper only to be betrayed by Peter. If MacKay decides to run again in Central Nova he might get a rude awakening. I, for one, if the good Lord spares me, will work tirelessly against Peter. The withdrawal of Roger MacKay and the appointment of George Canyon, Fred Lays, shows how bad the Conservative Party regards the voters of Central Nova and the democratic practice. I am not alone in this regard.
Too much emphasis is placed upon leadership in this country! I would like to see party politics vanish from Canada and constituent representatives elected. Along with that I would like to see a plebiscite form of government where the people would have a say on major legislation. If people had a say in government more, would be informed and less influenced by polls. Time for modern elections and governments.
