To the editor:

To the people who tossed their trash in the ditch on O. MacLean Rd. in Scotsburn on Thursday.

Among the discards were the bags, napkins and cups from a purchase made at the Pictou Subway, Jan. 2 at 4:36 p.m., steak and cheese sub, chicken teriyaki sub, drinks, four cookies. Also dumped were plastic cups from Wendy’s.

First off, I wish you long and searing heartburn.

Know that despite my disgust at the mess and your ignorance, I picked it up and disposed of it properly. That’s a small task that would take you maybe 15 seconds when you get home.

Second, realize that most of the people reading this do put garbage where it belongs and like clean surroundings. How would you feel if people dumped their trash off on your front lawn? Think about that next time.
